there was a goodly turnout at the monthly meeting at the Christian Temple on the 16th. of March, to hear Bill Todd speak about fats. (Actually, the topic was lipids, a category which includes fats, oils and fatty acids. If a lipid is solid at room temperature it is considered a fat, and if liquid at room temperature it is considered an oil.)

Seven years ago, Ms. Souders co-founded S.I.G.H.T.
with Bonnie Morin, which acronym stands for "Scientific
Investigation of Ghosts and Haunts Team," and is not to be
confused with Mensa's "Service of Information, Guidance and
Hospitality to Travelers." Basically, they see themselves as
ghost hunters, and travel around investigating reports of
supernatural activity. That's the "investigation" part. The
"scientific" part seems to come from the employment of
various electrical and/or electronic instruments in their
activities ....

Good Wine Cheap (and good food
to go with it)

The wine this month is the 2009 Claret from the Francis
Coppola Diamond Collection and is produced in Geyserville,
California. Yes, this is the same Francis Coppola of
Hollywood fame. This “Claret” is a Bordeaux blend of
primarily Cabernet Sauvignon and smaller percentages of
Malbec, Petite Verdot, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
